Our Annual Yoga Holiday 2020

Book in early then it’s done!

Welcome to our ‘circuit breaker’ a 5 days away retreat from the business of is -iness (@artbynhoj)

We are so refreshed after our time away and feeling the waves of that new life perspective in our consciousness.

Gretchen has booked July 13-18, 2020 and July 20-25, 2020 as our dates and already some bures are taken.  We love & appreciate people booking in early btw. Considering this is a small, I would have to say exclusive in the way it is so eco friendly and the local fijian staff who run the resort are fun and friendly and look after our every need, including tidying our rooms which we mothers appreciate soooo much.

There are only 12 bures and 2 of those taken by us, 10 bures are available, twin share at $2500 per person.  This includes everything, so don’t be daunted by that initial outlay because that’s transfers from Nadi, all your yummy meals, boat rides to the reef and beyond for snorkelling, diving & surfing.  There’s a few things that cost like espresso coffee, alcohol & boat rides to Frigates pass.

Actually this year we spilled out into the managers cottages as well (whoops).

Our schedule prioritises yoga.  Gretchen teaches a dynamic class every morning from 7-9am.  Suzanne takes time out in the afternoon 3.30 – 5.30 with a long Savasana/Yoga Nidra/Meditation followed by Pranyama.

Daily activities revolve around meal times.  The kitchen opens at 6am though most enjoy breakfast after class at 9am.  Lunch is at mid-day after snorkelling, or SUP, or surfing close by, or a rest, read, stroll or artwork …. your choice. Dinner after sunset about 7pm.

The days dissolve in that effortlessness of nothing to do and all day to do it in.  It’s a gift you give yourself.

There’s no shops, bad internet reception & no TV.

We store our yoga gear with our family @ashtangayogafiji and Matanavuis have props too.  We are grateful to be at a place that has built a yoga venue among ancient coastal jungle, a place we can call a temple under a cathedral of trees. Its stunning and the air we breathe is sanctified by this location.

The elements are so apparent here.  Earth with the people and our yoga practice, water clean and fresh and salty is straight outside your room with a lagoon bordered by reef before the infinite ocean.  The air is sweet, the fire is in the midday sun & the evening bonfire or lovo & the ether is up there in the canopy of those trees.

Now we’re all back home & feeling the effects of this time out.  For some that’s boundless energy & vitality, for others it’s quiet contemplation of their priorities.  Giving yourself this kind of space allows new attitudes to emerge from your subconscious mind & I can’t recommend it highly enough.
